Forever Forgetful

So...I have had this blog for a long time now and I haven't really posted anything. I guess life is just getting the better of me. I seem to be forever forgetful that I even have this blog. I figured I should update everyone on the recent events in my life since a lot has changed since my last post.
First off, in January I took a trip to Arizona for the study abroad program here on campus. This trip changed my outlook on life. Not only did we site see and walk probably 1000 miles (just kidding, but it felt like it!) I spent 5 days in a title 1 school with the most amazing 3rd graders ever and they have changed my life. Not only is this school a title 1 school but it is also located in the "projects" of Phoenix so these children come from very diverse backgrounds and very diverse classes in society. Many of them took home bags of food every Friday provided by the school. This was a great experience for me and I loved every minute of it. I cannot wait for Jan. 2014 where I will be spending a few days in San Antonio, TX! Yay!
On Valentine's day this year, my best friend proposed to me and I said YES! I could not be happier. We are so excited for our wedding and cannot wait to be together forever. We have been wedding planning like crazy even though our date isn't until October 2015. Two days after our engagement was our 3 year anniversary. That month will forever stand out in my mind and even though I think Valentine's day is overrated, I will always remember that one.

As for those of you who are wondering, yes, he proposed with a pizza. For those of you wondering what my ring looks like, here you go :)
It's kind of blurry, I know, but that's the best picture I have of it for now.
As the end of the semester is coming to an end I'm starting to say goodbye to some of my friends and preparing for final exams. In 11 days I start work at Dick's again...oh joy. As for the summer, I cannot wait, but I am not ready to be a senior. Life is going by way too fast.
As for all of you, thanks for reading and I hope you are all healthy and enjoying the nice weather!

The Holidays Are Here!

So I thought that I would update my blog with some event highlights from the year seeing as the New Year is coming and I haven't exactly kept up with this blog as much as I thought I would.

  1. January through March was kind of uneventful. I took Arthurian Literature for my Jan term class and needless to say it was quite interesting. During that class I met two very special people (Sarah and Megan) who are now my best friends. Needless to say, Sarah and I hit it off so well that we are now roommates this year. February brought Valentine's Day and a nice date from Zach as well as Zach and I's 2 year anniversary.
  2. March brought nicer weather and a Spring Break trip that my family, Zach, and I thoroughly enjoyed. We traveled down to Tennessee and enjoyed 5 days there. We rented a cabin in the mountains right smack dab in the middle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We enjoyed many of the fun festivities there including the NASCAR Go-Kart park, walking the strip in Gatlinburg, exploring Ripley's Aquarium, enjoying a great dinner and show at the Dixie Stampede (where we also had a fun and enjoyable waiter), eating at Fudrucker's for the first time (which they have a-mazing hanburgers!) and many other things. Our cabin had an outdoor hot tub which we took advantage of and it was up a very steep hill which our brakes smoked coming down.
  3. April and May flew by and not much transpired. I finished up my last semester of Sophomore year and then started my summer job car hopping at Dick's Drive In.
  4. June brought some interesting events. First things first, Zach graduated high school and on June 4th and then went straight to college at the University of Northwestern Ohio on June 25th. He is going for Diesel and Automotive Technician and is enjoying it like crazy. (Couldn't possibly have anything to do with him living in an apartment with 5 other guys?) On June 29th my family and I had a house disaster. As a huge storm approached our home, it demolished our roof, and we had a monsoon inside the West side of our home. Mom and I were hauling out 5 gallon buckets every 5 minutes and laying towels down under the windowsills. We have been repairing it ever since.
  5. I car hopped from May until August when I went back to college to start my Junior year. I cannot believe I am a junior! I have been asking myself where my life has gone for the past 2 years now. I do not feel like I should be this old, I feel like I just started college!
  6. Every year I am always so excited for the holidays. This year, however, will be different. Since we had our house disaster, we have no Christmas decorations up, we do not have a real tree (we have my 3 foot tree from college up on an end table) we have not participated in all the family traditions we normally have and I will be flying out for Arizona in 2 weeks and 1 day. This holiday season will be very different for my family to say the least. I guess this just means I am growing up (No! I wanna stay small forever! Doesn't everyone say that?)
I hope this post finds you all happy, healthy, and in the holiday spirit and I hope you all have a very blessed and happy New Year.
XOXO

So many things..

I have been so busy I hadn't realized it's been since February since I've been on here. This is short and sweet.

  • I had my 21st birthday on the 16th of this month. I had dinner at Pat's Landing with my family and Zach and received a chocolate cake shot (my first shot ever) from our waitress and then bought a bottle of wine. I also received presents from my Zachary, I got to go see Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 with my family and went to the mall for some shopping.
  • Thanksgiving break went by way too quickly. I got home Tuesday afternoon and went grocery shopping with mom for our baking supplies. Wednesday I baked all day and gave the dogs a bath. Thursday we had our family Thanksgiving at the Historical Museum and I ate WAY too much food, then Zach and I went to his Aunt's for Thanksgiving there and I swear I gained 10 pounds from that day. At 7 p.m. on Thursday my family, Zach, and I left for Black Friday goodies! After going to Kmart, Walmart, Target, and waiting in line for 2 hours at Old Navy, we finally returned home at 4 a.m. Needless to say I was worthless on Friday and slept my day away until afternoon.Saturday we did some more shopping at Sear's and the Dollar Tree and Rural King and then fixed some of our Christmas lights that had broke from the freeze. I then went to Zach's for taco night and then we went and saw the movie Rise of the Guardians which was cute and I loved it! Sunday went by quickly as I did nothing but lounge around and then help dad on the house since we have been finishing that up from all the storm damage we got the weekend before the fourth of July (it rained INSIDE our house).
This is all I have to say for my quick update at the moment. I have to finish a paper, a lesson plan, and a discussion starter for tomorrow and I've been working on it for two hours already! Wish me luck!
Thanks for reading!

So. Allergies are kicking my butt, yesterday my first car was sold and I bawled, I forgot my dorm key at home so my dad had to drive all the way over here to bring it to me, the police came and interrogated me because apparently I set off the alarm in the middle school even though the door was unlocked, it wasn't like I just broke in. On the bright side, I spent the afternoon with my dad, I got KFC for dinner, and my room is back in order. I also have my sophomore interview today at 2:30p.m. Wish me luck!

\\First Post//

So...
I decided that I would create this blog and just tell about my days since I've been so stressed lately and need a place to vent, though my boyfriend is very good at listening to me and listening to my vents, I still feel the need to get them out elsewhere.
First things first on the list... T.G.I.F.
I can't take another day of stress, thank the Lord by 2:00 p.m. tomorrow I will be on my way home to see Zachary and have chicken night at my house with my family.
Things I need to get out:
  • I can't believe I have to re-take the PRAXIS 1 again for the THIRD time. I'm so frustrated with myself. It's eighth grade algebra for cripe's sake.
  • I just realized after I got back from scheduling my sophomore interview that that's the same day I start my field experience at Flyer Time so now I have to cancel going to my first field experience already.
  • I won't be accepted into the education department because of the whole PRAXIS thing, so my sophomore interview is going to be awkward and it's going to suck.
Now, to stop being a pessimist...
Awesome things I'm doing or that have happened this month:
  • Today is Zach and I's two year anniversary.
    • I have absolutely loved every minute of every single day that we have been together. I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend. You love me, care for me, take care of me when I'm sick, adore me, say I'm beautiful when I'm at my worst, comfort me, put me high up on a pedestal, and treat me like a princess even when I don't deserve it. This is have been the most wonderful, amazing, joyful, exciting, confusing, irritating, hardest, most complicated two years and I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you for being the gentleman you are. I love you to infinity and beyond.
  • Saturday we're doing something for our two year anniversary/Valentine's day celebration. And it's a secret I'm not supposed to know. <3
  • On the 25th of this month we're going to the Eric Church and Brantley Gilbert concert and I'm so pumped.
  • I'm going to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge for Spring Break with my family and Zach and I absolutely cannot wait. We're doing so much. But the one thing I just can't stop jumping up and down for with joy is the Titanic Museum. I'm dying. I can't wait to go.
I guess that pretty much summarizes my day for now. More to come...
